Aircraft
MSFS2020The official Training Aircraft for MSFS2020 are the K7 and LS4 . Download the K7 here
Download the LS4 here FSX / P3DThese aircraft, all the work of Wolfgang Piper with the exception of the ASW28, have been downloaded from his website www.fsglider.de and some have been modified to include the VET simulated winch launch system (also downloadable from www.fsglider.de) and the UK VGA repaints. Because installing the VET system is not trivial, we decided to do the installation for members. Wolfgang has very kindly given his permission for the UK VGA to make these modified aircraft available to download and we encourage you to visit his site to try out his other excellent glider models. We have tried to contact Peter Franke for permission to make the ASW-28 available, but we have learned through other sources that no-one has heard from him in the virtual gliding community for 3 years. We are therefore making the hard to find ASW28 available here in the spirit of the well recognised philosophy of sharing free resources among flight simmers. Should Peter contact us and decline to give permission, we regret that the ASW28 will have to be withdrawn. There are two versions of the training aircraft, FSX. The FSX VWL aircraft have the all new Virtual Winch Launch system fitted. The VWL system replaces the VET with a more realistic release knob to control the launch. FSX users who use Winch X should continue to use the standard FSX versions. Official UKVGA Training AircraftOther UKVGA Aircraft in Club coloursAll FSX Gliders Zip containing FSX gliders above. Download (107.88 Mb) Aircraft Installation Instructions for FSXWhen you open up the zip file you will find a number of files and folders which you simply copy into your FSX folder. For example, in the Grunau Baby zip file for FSX copy the files as follows: Copy the folder SimObjects to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ overwriting the existing SimObjects folder. Copy the folder Gauges to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ overwriting the existing Gauges folder. Copy the folder Sound to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ overwriting the existing Sound folder. Copy the remaining files into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ overwriting any existing files. You may already have gps-nav.dat or glider polar files you wish to keep in which case don't overwrite the existing files, if you don't understand this bit you'll be ok to overwrite them! Note that unlike FS9, in FSX the files FSSound.dll and SOARRec.dll don't go into the Modules folder but into the root folder of FSX - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\. Additional Aircraft Installation Instructions for FSXYou will need some additional files to install the gliders correctly, download these here (49.41 Kb). The free download contains 2 files: SOARRec.dll and FSSound.dll. In the main program folder of FSX (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\) put the following files: Open FSX.cfg in Notepad and add the following entry: [OLDMODULES] SOARRec.dll = 1 FSSound.dll = 1 If you don't have FSUIPC.dll then you can download FSUIPC (free) from The Official Peter Dowson Page. Make sure you download the correct, latest, version for FSX. Unzip the downloaded file into a temporary folder and run "Install FSUIPC.EXE" This will place FSUIPC.DLL in your FSX Modules folder.
